About this hotel

A warm welcome awaits you at our 350-year-old former Capuchin monastery. The monastery has belonged to the Kloster Dornach Foundation since 1999. Today we are a modern establishment offering a restaurant, a hotel, a church, as well as cultural programming. Worship services and concerts take place regularly in the monastery church and other historic rooms. Tucked within our walls are also thirty unique hotel rooms converted from monastery cells overlooking a vast garden inviting you to spend time relaxing with us. We trust you will find a sense of peace as well as conviviality in our historically cultivated surroundings featuring contemporary accents from art and culture.

Some of our former monastery cells are filled with one-of-a-kind artistic contributions -- a special overnight experience! While we attach great importance to preserving the simple, monastic atmosphere of these rooms, tasteful, contemporary accents from art and culture can gently liven them up. Each of our rooms has its own title and may be used to display work by our current artists-in-residence on the occasion of our exhibitions.
