Today we take you on a journey through the HotelCard team's holiday experiences! When it comes to hotel recommendations, nothing beats an insider's tip. We put our heads together and compiled our favourite hotels and our personal experiences. The result: the five favourite hotels of Matthias, Loris, Michelle, Stefan and Justine.
Matthias' tip: Lilienberg**** on Lake Constance
Fancy a relaxing weekend? The Lilienberg in Ermatingen, with its view of the lake, is ideal for couples. I particularly like the wellness area with its whirlpool. It glows in pleasant colours in the evening and, together with the quiet location in the hotel park, creates a relaxed atmosphere in which to unwind.
My tip for your stay: It's definitely worth taking a walk from the hotel to Lake Constance. Ermatigen is very charming and the view from the shore and the hotel is simply enchanting. If you want to experience a bit more, Constance is easily accessible by public transport and well worth a day trip. In winter, the Christmas market is especially worth a visit.

Loris' hotel tips: Au Cheval Blanc**** in Alsace
At HotelCard, I am responsible for hotel partnerships in the french-speaking part of Switzerland and France. One of the many hotels I visit is particularly memorable - the Best Western Plus Au Cheval Blanc in Baldersheim. Why, you may ask? Because this authentic hotel has the most comfortable mattresses ever. I slept like on clouds! If you want to sleep like a baby, this is the hotel to choose.
My tip for your stay: Au Cheval Blanc is not only a wonderful place to sleep, but also a great place to eat. The restaurant offers Alsatian specialities and excellent service. In summer, you can enjoy coffee and cake on the sun terrace.

Michelle's tip: Hotel Saratz**** in Pontresina
I stayed at the Hotel Saratz in the Engadine while I was photographing during the unique Indian summer. My personal highlight was definitely the breakfast: the room is decorated with magnificent chandeliers and sweeping window arches that offer a breathtaking view of the picturesque landscape of the Upper Engadine. Of course, I couldn't resist a delicious scrambled egg with bacon on my plate, accompanied by a wonderfully fragrant coffee. The perfect way to start the day.
My tip for your stay: take a walk in the hotel's 35,000m² park. If you're lucky, you might even come across a cuddly squirrel. Then visit the Wellness & Spa. You won't want to get up from the wonderfully soft couches.

Stefan's tip: Seven Boutique Hotel in Ascona
In my role as Head of Hotel Partnerships, I spend a lot of time travelling and visiting hotels. About two months ago, I stayed at the Seven Boutique Hotel in Ticino.
If winter has not yet hit you, the Seven is the ideal choice. It is located right on the piazza in Ascona. This is where the "dolce vita" takes place, with many great restaurants and cafes. With its simple and modern concept, the boutique hotel offers excellent value for money and is also an ideal base for exploring the winding alleyways of the old town. For singles, couples or families, there is something for everyone.
My tip for your stay: Be sure to visit the hotel's restaurant, Easy, which is about 300 metres away. You can expect friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. I especially recommend the fantastic pizzas, the homemade ice cream and the amazing cheesecake. Booking is recommended (especially in summer) as the restaurant is very popular.

Justine's tip: Nidwaldnerhof***Superior in Beckenried
The Hotel Nidwaldnerhof is a real gem on Lake Lucerne. The family-run hotel enjoys a privileged location on the shores of the lake. Wherever you go, you are greeted by magnificent views of the lakeside mountains. Be it in the cosy lakeside restaurant or in the modern rooms.
My tip for your stay: If you don't mind a bit of luxury, you should definitely book the Wellness Suite. The 52 m² suite has its own jacuzzi, where you can relax in delight. The balcony is also the perfect place to enjoy the view.
