Summer highlights in Jura & Three-Lakes Region

What could be better than spending a warm summer day or evening near a lake?

We have explored the Jura & Three Lakes Region for you and therefor we present two beautiful lakes with their pretty towns and great activities: Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Biel. Of course, we also have the right hotel recommendations ready for you.

Summer experiences at Lake Neuchâtel

Did you know that Lake Neuchâtel is the largest lake which is completely located in Switzerland? It is 38 km long and up to 8 km wide. In summer, it offers plenty of refreshing experiences.

A great flair awaits visitors in Neuchâtel. The beautiful city at the lake enchants with its magnificent Belle Epoque houses and a touch of Mediterranean lifestyle. In summer, life takes place outside in the streets and on the shores of the lake.

Beau-Rivage Hotel, Neuchâtel

Enjoy the refined luxury of the 5* Beau-Rivage Hotel in a privileged lakeside location. The beautiful view of the lake and the Alps is the perfect supplement to a delicious lunch or dinner in the O'terroirs restaurant, which has been awarded 14 Gault-Millau toques. Your well-being is also the focus of attention in the spa area with hammam, as well as in the modernly equipped gym area. The tasteful, spacious rooms are the ideal retreat after an eventful day on Lake Neuchâtel.

Experience Lake Neuchâtel

On the road by bike
An active way to get to know Lake Neuchâtel is to take a bike tour along its shores. There is a rental station right in the harbour of Neuchâtel where bikes can be rented at a reasonable price. The cycle paths in the region are well developed and secluded bathing spots in the countryside, modern lido bathing establishments and inviting restaurants with a view of the lake are perfect stops along the way.

Those interested in the history of our ancestors will be fascinated by the Laténium Museum. Outside you will find replicas of pile dwellings, and inside you can embark on an exciting, interactive journey through time from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages.

Fun on the water
Those who prefer to escape the warm temperatures into the cool water will certainly find their pleasure at the "Bains des Dames" in Neuchâtel. The Ski Nautique Club Neuchâtel also offers non-members the opportunity to practise water skiing, wakeboarding or wakesurfing.

Hotel Le Vaisseau, Cortaillod

South of Neuchâtel, in a small village surrounded by vines, is the friendly, family-run Hotel Le Vaisseau. The country hotel has been in family property since 1914 and is run with a lot of passion. On beautiful summer days, guests are treated to culinary delights on the spacious terrace overlooking the lake. The beach and the harbour are only a few hundred metres from the hotel and the idyllic surroundings invite you to take long walks.

Summer experiences on Lake Biel

Did you know that Biel is the largest bilingual city in Switzerland? The city is also characterised by a beautiful, well-preserved medieval old town. The watchmaking metropolis is the gateway to the Three Lakes Country, which includes Lake Biel, Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Murten.
