Q&A’s

Is HotelCard a subscription?

Yes, in contrast to other online booking portals, HotelCard is financed exclusively by its members. The annual membership fee is usually amortized after 1-2 nights, after that our members save for every stay

Can the membership be cancelled at any time?

Yes, the membership can be cancelled at any time up to 14 days before the end of the subscription, otherwise the membership is automatically renewed at CHF 99 per year. We will remind you by e-mail ahead of time about the upcoming automatic renewal of your subscription.

When can I start using HotelCard?

Directly after registration you will receive a confirmation e-mail and can start booking hotels at member-only conditions immediately. You will find the HotelCard in digital form in your user profile.

Can I book as often as I like at member-rates?

Yes, you may book as many hotel stays as you wish. Our hotels are looking forward to welcoming you! However, only a maximum of 3 consecutive nights per booking are possible with up to 50% discount. After that 10% discount applies (if available)

What does "HotelCard as a gift" include?

You can choose one of the following options:

HotelCard-Membership for 6 or 12 months
The gift recipient receives a personal HotelCard. The name of the gift recipient is printed on the HotelCard.

HotelCard-Membership & hotel voucher (Value selectable)
In addition to the personal HotelCard (see option 1), the gift recipient receives a hotel voucher for the amount you chose. The hotel voucher is accepted as a means of payment by our partner hotels and can be used when checking out at the hotel.

Both gift variants are packaged and sent in a folding card with a high-quality, appealing design.

As of when is the HotelCard and the hotel voucher valid and until when?

The start of validity (here: date of issue) can be freely chosen by the buyer. The HotelCard membership remains valid for 6 or 12 months respectively. Booking and staying in hotels with HotelCard-discount is only possible during this period. The Hotel Voucher however remains valid for 2 years from the date of issue.

Can the gift be used immediately?

The membership is valid from the selected date. To be able to use all the benefits of the HotelCard, the membership must be activated at hotelcard.ch/activate

Which services can be paid with the hotel voucher?

All hotel services offered (accommodation, meals, services) can be paid for with a hotel voucher. Partial redemption is possible. However, the voucher can only be redeemed in combination with a booked overnight stay in a hotel.

Can the hotel voucher still be used after the expiry of the HotelCard?

Yes, hotels will still accept hotel vouchers after the expiry of the HotelCard membership. However, in this case, it is no longer possible to stay overnight with a HotelCard membership discount up to 50%. The regular room rates of the hotel apply.

Where is the HotelCard gift sent to and how long does the delivery take?

The gift will be sent to the specified delivery address together with the payment confirmation. Delivery is by Post, usually within 3 working days.
